Your spine protects your spinal cord and nervous system. The nervous system is connected to the condition of your entire body, affecting every cell. Therefore, a healthy spine is important for a healthy body.
Getting hit with a cold or the flu can put you out of work or school for days. While medications may help, why not prevent yourself from getting sick in the first place? Chiropractic adjustments improve your nervous system and your immune system. Misalignments of the spine, or subluxations, can cause irritation and compression that negatively affect nerve pathways. These stresses can lower your immune system and make you vulnerable to disease.
One study done by Ronald Pero, Ph.D. shows that those who take advantage of chiropractic care have an improved immune system by 200% over those that do not. The study also proved that patients with serious disease or cancer had an improved immune system by 400% if they see a chiropractor.
If you have had an injury, not only do adjustments relieve any current pain, but also help prevent future problems caused by an injury. Chiropractors focus on healing the body naturally. Even if you feel healthy, your body may not be in the best condition. Visiting a chiropractor is just as important as seeing your primary doctor or your dentist.
